Editor's note. Lee Ann
O'Mara is the parent of two
students of Sapulpa Chris-
tian School: Krllv. second
grade. and Bonnie,
kindergarten. O'Mara talk-
ed to a number of SCS
parents in preparing this
report on the school.
What better way to bring
God's people together than
through the children'*
Christians of a number of
Sapulpa churches
representing a variety of
denominations have united
in pursuing a common
goal: to train their children
"in the way they should
B" ”
That training is taking
place at Sapulpa Christian
School, which meets in the
facilities of First Assembly
of God Church Students
enrolled at SCS attend 20
different churches in the
Sapulpa area
Relationships at the
school go beyond teacher
to-student Jesus Christ is
the bond between the
teachers and their student
body The teachers show
their love through daily
caring and encouragement
with prayer and kindness
Parents are also affected
by the spirit of unity that is
the foundation of the
school
"As parents of young
children, we have enjoyed
the fellowship of this
school," said Bob and Joy
Enlow. who attend the
Church of God of Prophecy
The Enlows have two
children enrolled at SCS
Matt is in first grade and
Callie is in kindergarten
"The school works
toward a leather student
relationship that is hard to
find at most schools to-
day,” the Enlows said
“The staff works with the
parents as well as the
teachers ”
Mick and Lorene
McGuire attend First Bap
tist Church of Kiefer "We
want to thank God for a
Christian school and for
loving, caring Christian
teachers."
The McGuires' son, John,
attends fifth grade at
Sapulpa Christian School
"Our son John had lost his
self confidence and his love
for school He was failing
third grade, the McGuires
confided
"He didn't want to return
to school but we enrolled
him in SCS for the fourth
grade Within two weeks he
loved school and was mak-
ing good grades Our school
has firm discipline and also
starts each day with
prayer We praise God for
answering our prayers
Lowell and Betty Rice,
who attend First Assembly
of God at Sand Springs,
have a four-year-old atten
ding kindergarten at SCS
They want their daughter
to learn more than reading,
writing and rithmetic
"We desire our children
to be brought up and
educated in an atmosphere
of love and discipline w hich
we have found with
Sapulpa Christian School
But most of all. they are
taught the love of Jesus
Chnst. how and why we
pray, and the importance
of being saved What else is
there?”
Barbara Belk, who at-
tends Sapulpa's F irst
Assembly of God. agn-ed
Barbara and Roger Belk s
oldest. Dana, and
kindergartener. Denise,
both attend SCS
"Two years before my
first child was old enough
for school I began pray ing
for a Christian school in the
Sapulpa area." Barbara
Belk said
"I feel that it is vital for
my children to be grounded
in the Word of God at an
early age I want them to
he in a school that will not
only teach them the fun
damental skills of reading
writing and math, but will
also reinforce the spiritual
ideals that are being taught
at home
"The teachers and staff
at SCS are genuinely con
cerned with the spiritual
education and personal
growth of each child A
Christian school is not an
alternative, it is a necessi-
ty I want the very best for
my girls and SCS is it
