The back of the photograph proclaims, “Cattle on the McFarlin ranch, a cooperator with the Hughes County SWCD, after a 7 inch snow. Loamy Prairie range site, was in excellent condition. The grass was properly used creating a condition to hold the snow where it fell.”

Pond will stand 4 feet in depth on north end to 5 feet in depth on south end.

Wild Turkeys on Feeding Ground

Description: Photograph of wild turkeys on feeding ground with deer in background on Edwin Sawyer ranch, 15 miles southwest of Sonora, Texas. Turkeys are fed corn or milo each afternoon during the winter and spring. Feeding not only supplements the natural winter diet, but helps to keep the turkeys from migrating.

Gully Caused by Heavy Rainfall

Description: Photograph of a gully caused by the 19-inch rainfall which fell in 7-hours on June 22. This gully, 25 feet deep and 40 feet wide, & several blocks long, is in the middle of what was a travelled street before the rain started. Less than 2 acres of land drain into the gully above its head.
